Why the Mines Play Differently
The Mines is the map that breaks the school habit. You Escaped Mines was created on September 3, 2026, and You Escaped Mines With No Power was created the next day. The place list includes Mines - Escape and Mines - Hide And Seek. Escape is the round with the exit sequence. If you load it and start opening imaginary backpacks, you will not find the door the school trained you to expect.
The space is tunnels and rails rather than classrooms. There is a second stretch of the map beyond the first furnace gate, which is already a difference from the single school building. The hunter in player runs is a train figure, and Scream And Run Studios sells a pass named 2x Chance To Play As Thomas. Give the tunnels more room than you would give a school hallway. He is large, and the corners are the cover.
A separate No Power badge exists for the Mines. It is another clear of the same map, not a way to skip the furnace.
Pickaxe and Coal
The first tool is a pickaxe. Without it, the coal in the tunnels is scenery. Pick the tool up when you find it and keep it until the seams are done. The pickaxe does not have a reliable fixed spot. Search the tunnels you spawned in instead of camping one desk.
Coal is what the pickaxe is for. Mine the seams you can reach and carry the pieces to the furnace. You are not collecting a key ring. You are feeding a machine. If your hands are empty and the furnace prompt will not take anything, you are missing the pickaxe or you have not mined yet.
Do not memorize a fixed coal total. Keep feeding the furnace until the route opens in your current round. The amount can change with the door you feed. If it still wants coal, mine more. If the gate ahead opens, stop counting and move.
Furnace Objective
The furnace is the middle of the Scream And Run Mines escape. You bring it coal until it accepts the route forward. Players narrating clears describe that delivery as the thing that opens the next area, not as a side task you can skip once you have seen an explosive.
Make the walk from the seam to the furnace a route you can repeat under pressure. Shift covers the straight tunnel. Shift+C is the slide when the rail line is open and Thomas is the reason you do not want to stay on it. C is for the low gaps off the main line.
If the furnace refuses a piece, you are at the wrong prompt or the quota you can see is already satisfied. Read the interaction. A second furnace or a second door can exist in a round. Follow the one that answers, and do not invent a second quota the screen is not asking for.
Explosives and the Exit Sequence
Several walkthroughs describe a set of charges and a lighter at the rock blocking the exit, under the way out. The exact count is less stable than the order, so place what the prompt will accept and light them when they are set. A lighter with no charges, or charges with no lighter, is an unfinished step.
The blast is the escape action. Stand where the tunnel gives you a path away from the blockage and away from Thomas, then commit. After it opens, leave. There is no key to insert on the other side of a Mines clear.
- Get the pickaxe The coal does not mine itself. Find the tool before you wander the whole shaft.
- Feed the furnace Mine coal and deliver it until the next area opens. Stop when the route opens, not when a remembered number is reached.
- Collect the charges and the lighter The exit sequence uses explosives and a lighter. Pick up what the prompts name.
- Clear the blockage Place the charges at the blocked exit and light them. The way out is past that blast, not back at the school door.
Survival Tips
The Mines feels longer because the objective is a chain. Skipping a link does not speed it up. Players who treat it as a key hunt search the wrong containers for the entire round and never touch the furnace that was twenty steps from spawn.
- Say 'furnace' or 'charges' to your team, not 'keys.'
- Mine, deliver, then move on. Do not stockpile coal after the gate opens.
- Keep the lighter and the charges as a pair.
- Leave the rails when Thomas is on them.
- Ignore backpack advice from the school page while this objective is on screen.
- Scream And Run maps Compare the Mines with the school and the Pizzeria.
- How to escape Confirm you are on the Mines before you search.
FAQ
How do you escape the Scream And Run Mines?
Find a pickaxe, mine coal, feed the furnace until the next area opens, then use explosives and a lighter on the blocked exit.
Do the Mines use five keys?
No. The school uses keys. The Mines uses the pickaxe, coal, furnace, and explosive sequence. Searching for padlocks here wastes the round.
How much coal does the furnace need?
Do not memorize a fixed coal total. Keep feeding the furnace until the route opens in your current round.
Who chases you in the Mines?
Players describe a train hunter, and the studio sells a pass to play as Thomas. Give the rails room and use side tunnels to break sight.
What is the Mines no-power badge?
You Escaped Mines With No Power is a separate badge created on September 4, 2026. It is a different clear, not a skip for the furnace.
